Opposition leaders slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ruling BJP Party after one person was killed in Delhi Airport roof collapse. As Delhi-NCR witnessed heavy downpours on Friday morning, a portion of the newly expanded Terminal 1 of Indira Gandhi International Airport collapsed. Following the incident, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP government of “corruption and criminal negligence” in infrastructure projects in the last 10 years.
“Corruption and criminal negligence is responsible for the collapse of shoddy infrastructure falling like a deck of cards, in the past 10 years of Modi government,” the Congress chief wrote in a social media post.

On March 10, PM Modi inaugurated or laid the foundation stone of 15 airport projects across the country which are worth more than Rs 9,800 crore. Among these projects, the expanded Terminal 1 of IGI Airport in Delhi was inaugurated. The Opposition leaders accused PM Modi of “hurriedly inaugurating” an “incomplete terminal” to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.

Incomplete terminal “inaugurated” before the model code was imposed earlier this year starts falling apart before it’s even completed, what a surprise!! https://t.co/a7LJ4xdDFQ

SHOCKING & tragic news this morning.
The roof at Delhi Airport’s has T1 collapsed this morning and, until now, 3 people are reported dead.
For election campaigning, Modi had hurriedly “inaugurated” T1 in March even while it was under construction.
