In response to BJP’s “Jan Aashirwad Yatra”, Congress initiated its “Jan Aakrosh Rally” today in Kharagone. The event commenced with a ceremonial prayer at the Siddhi Vinayak Ganesh Temple and saw the presence of stalwarts like former Minister Sajjansih Verma, Dr. Vijaylakshmi Sadhau, Umang Singaar, and Youth Congress State Chief Vikrant Bhuriya. The rally drew a massive crowd, and many see this as Congress’s answer to the BJP’s recent Yatra. Remarkably, at the Post Office Square, a unique welcome was given with flower showers from three JCB machines. An assembly held at the Kharagone TIT Complex witnessed Congress leaders sharply criticising the BJP’s 18-year tenure, labelling it as a “government of theft”.
Sajjansih Verma, co-incharge of the rally, said the huge turnout post the Ganesh festival is a sign of public anger against the BJP government. He alleged that Chief Minister Shivrajsinh made 25,000 false promises in the last 18 years. If there was a competition for lying among Chief Ministers, Shivrajsinh would rank first, Verma claimed.
Dr. Vijaylakshmi Sadhau, senior Congress leader, opined that BJP is now imitating Congress. She said that every farmer, tribal, Dalit, and woman in the state is unhappy with the “deal-making government” of the BJP. The anger is palpable in the Congress rally, with people expressing their frustration and giving their blessings to the Congress.
The rally also witnessed the presence of several other Congress heavyweights including Bhagwanpura MLA Kedar Dabar and District Congress President Ravi Naik.
