The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee Chief, Govind Singh Dotasra, criticised the BJP-led state government for not assigning portfolios to the two Deputy Chief Ministers, Diya Kumari and Dr. PC Bairwa. Dotasra, speaking to the media during Congress protests against the expulsion of opposition MPs from Parliament, emphasised the need for allocating departments to the Deputy CMs.
He highlighted that despite being given the designation, the Deputy CMs have not been assigned to any specific departments. Dotasra pointed out that both Deputy CMs are often seen accompanying the Chief Minister to various events, such as railway stations, temples, and Delhi visits. He urged the government to allocate portfolios to ensure effective governance.
Rajasthan has been awaiting the formation of the council of ministers even a week after the oath-taking ceremony of the Chief Minister and Deputy CMs. The delay in portfolio allocation has raised questions, especially as the Chief Minister has visited New Delhi twice during this period.
While there are speculations about potential ministers, the actual formation of the Council of Ministers remains uncertain. The Finance and Home Minister positions are particularly awaited, as both former CMs, Ashok Gehlot and Vasundhara Raje, had held the finance portfolio in their previous tenures.
This isn’t the first time Dotasra has raised concerns about the Deputy CMs. Before their oath-taking, he had cited constitutional provisions related to the oath-taking process for Deputy CMs.
