The first meeting of the General Assembly of the Rajasthan branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association took place at the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly following the formation of the sixteenth Rajasthan Assembly. Chaired by Vasudev Devnani, President of the Rajasthan branch, the meeting covered key discussions and decisions.
During the assembly, Devnani provided insights into the branch’s formation, activities, and various programs. The assembly focused on decisions regarding an increase in membership fees and the election of executive committee members.
Speaker Devnani highlighted the establishment of the Rajasthan branch on August 10, 1959, and its active participation in CPA-organized seminars, conferences, and training programs.
Devnani mentioned the branch’s affiliation with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association in 1959 and its acceptance into the General Council in November of the same year.
The headquarters of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, located in London, recognizes the Indian Parliament as the main branch of legislative bodies in India.
