Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, is poised to inaugurate the pioneering City Bus Service featuring electric buses in Siwah, Panipat, on January 29, 2024. The initiative, aimed at benefiting residents in nine cities, underscores the state’s commitment to environmental sustainability through zero pollution transport.

Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma announced that the Haryana City Bus Service Limited, a Government Corporation under the Transport Department, will offer local city bus services in Panipat, Yamunanagar, Panchkula, Ambala, Karnal, Sonepat, Rewari, Rohtak, and Hisar—a distinctive and trailblazing project in any Indian state.

Sharma highlighted the ongoing construction of separate City Bus Service Depots in all nine cities, with an estimated cost of Rs 115 crore. To support bus operations, an order for 375 buses has already been placed. The inauguration, set to take place at the new bus stand in Siwah, Panipat, signifies the first phase of the initiative.

This significant milestone exemplifies Haryana’s dedication to green and contemporary public transportation, aligning with the state’s vision for a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
