To aid NRI community in resolving their concerns, Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann, inaugurated the new website nri.punjab.gov.in for the NRI affairs department this Friday.

Describing it as a groundbreaking initiative, the Chief Minister highlighted its dual purpose: ensuring the well-being of NRIs while fostering their connection to their roots. The state-of-the-art website, developed by the Governance Reforms department in collaboration with NIC, offers comprehensive information on the NRI Police wing, Punjab State Commission for NRIs, and NRI sabha.

Mann emphasized that the website streamlines access to various state government facilities for NRIs. From document attestation to accessing other beneficial schemes, the site simplifies these processes with just a click. It further provides essential contact details like helpline numbers, email addresses, and a WhatsApp complaint number.
Detailing the site›s features, Mann highlighted information on registered travel and immigration agents/agencies. Additionally, the website links to Punjab›s centralized online complaint portal, where NRIs and others can register grievances.

Expressing optimism, Mann envisioned the website as a game-changer in resolving NRI issues, facilitating substantial assistance. Highlighting upcoming plans, the Chief Minister announced five NRI gatherings (NRI milnis) scheduled for February, aiming for immediate issue redressal. Mann reaffirmed the state government›s commitment to the welfare of NRIs, promising unwavering support.

In a significant move, Mann announced the establishment of a 24×7 «Facilitation Center» at the International Terminal Arrival Hall. This centre aims to aid NRIs and other travellers with flight information, connections, taxi services, lost luggage assistance, and more, ensuring a seamless experience at the airport.
