The Cybercrime Investigation Cell of Chandigarh Police has successfully apprehended two fraudsters involved in a scam that duped a resident of the city, Navin Gupta from Sector 43, of Rs 6.45 lakh under the guise of offering a job. Gupta reported that in June, he received a call from someone claiming to be Amit Kaushik, an executive from an employment website, assuring him an interview for a job. Unfortunately, Gupta fell victim to the scam and deposited the aforementioned amount in various bank accounts, believing it to cover registration fees, PMP course charges, document verification fees, etc. It was only later that he realized he had been deceived.
Upon receiving the complaint, the police registered a case at the Cybercrime police station. The subsequent investigation led to a raid in the Mauganj district of Madhya Pradesh, resulting in the arrest of two suspects identified as Satish Kushwana (28) and Abhishek Tiwari (25). The arrested individuals were presented in court, which subsequently remanded them to four days of police custody.
