The ICC is said to be holding a board meeting on November 29 to decide on the future of the 2025 Champions Trophy as India has decided not to travel to Pakistan. According to ESPNcricinfo, a virtual meeting will be conducted to finalize arrangements for the tournament against the decision by BCCI. Members will vote to come to a resolution.

The BCCI had informed the ICC earlier that the Indian government did not give permission to send its men’s team for playing in Pakistan. The ICC countered with a hybrid model in which India could play its matches at a neutral venue, but the PCB is adamant about hosting the event in full in Pakistan.

According to PTI, the ICC may offer PCB more financial incentives to end the deadlock. “With the PCB not willing to budge on hosting the event under a hybrid model, they are now being offered additional financial incentives to end the deadlock,” an insider said.

Although it is too early for any official announcement, the championship schedule that was anticipated in this month has been rescheduled due to the back-and-forth negotiations.

A total of eight teams are scheduled to participate in the Champions Trophy, which includes India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.

An insider said the PCB claims that there are no objections from all the other participating nations to play in Pakistan saying, “If India isn’t willing to play in Pakistan, it’s their issue, as all the six other participating nations have no issues playing in Pakistan.”

The PCB has also expressed interest in hosting marquee matches including India vs Pakistan clash of group stages and the final of the tournament, in Lahore even if hybrid model is applied.
