The campaigning for the first phase of the Chhattisgarh assembly polls has concluded, involving 223 candidates competing across 20 assembly seats. Voting for this phase is scheduled for November 7.

Campaigning in the relevant areas came to a halt after 5 pm yesterday, and from now on, public platform campaigning will be restricted 48 hours before the voting ends.

Among the 223 candidates in these 20 assembly constituencies, 198 are men, and 25 are women. A total of 40,78,681 voters are expected to cast their votes in the first phase, comprising 19,93,937 male voters, 20,84,675 female voters, and 69 third-gender voters. There are 5,304 polling stations set up for this phase.

Voting will commence at different times: 10 constituencies will vote from 7 am to 3 pm, while the other 10 will vote from 8 am to 5 pm. The constituencies voting from 8 am to 5 pm include Pandaria, Kawardha, Khairagarh, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Dongargaon, Khujji, Bastar, Jagdalpur, and Chitrakote. Meanwhile, Mohla-Manpur, Antagarh, Bhanupratappur, Kanker, Keshkal, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Dantewada, Bijapur, and Konta constituencies will vote from 7 am to 3 pm.
