Hyundai Teases Creta Electric Ahead of 2025 Launch: Key Specs and Features Revealed

Hyundai has officially teased the upcoming Creta Electric, its latest electric SUV, which is anticipated to launch at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. This model will be the company’s third electric vehicle (EV) in India, succeeding the discontinued Hyundai Kona Electric. Positioned to compete in the rapidly expanding EV segment, the Creta Electric aims to challenge established players like Tata Motors while joining Hyundai’s existing Ioniq 5 in the market.

Design and Features of the Hyundai Creta Electric

The design of the Hyundai Creta Electric closely resembles that of the 2024 Hyundai Creta, with several modifications tailored for the electric version. The front of the vehicle features a blanked-out grille with a center-mounted charging port, while the rear showcases a redesigned bumper, retaining the same tail lights. The side profile remains unchanged, but the EV is equipped with new 17-inch aero alloy wheels.

Inside, the Creta Electric will maintain the dual-screen setup for the infotainment and instrument cluster, similar to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. However, it will introduce a new steering wheel design inspired by the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Additional features include a leatherette dashboard, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an electric panoramic sunroof, and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for enhanced safety.

Pricing and Competition

The Hyundai Creta Electric is expected to be priced between ₹20-30 lakh, positioning it competitively against other electric SUVs in the market, such as the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, and BYD Atto 3.

Battery and Range Specifications

Hyundai has announced two battery pack variants for the Creta Electric. The 51.4 kWh pack offers an ARAI-certified range of 473 km, while the 42 kWh pack provides a range of 390 km. The Creta Electric can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 58 minutes using DC fast charging, or it can be fully charged in 4 hours with an 11kW Smart Connected wall box charger.

In terms of performance, the Creta Electric can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and offers three driving modes—Eco, Normal, and Sports—to cater to different driving preferences.
