Watch: Rekha Kisses Janhvi Kapoor’s Poster At ‘Ulajh’ Premiere, Fans Recall Bond With Sridevi

In a heartwarming tribute to the late superstar Sridevi, veteran actress Rekha graced the premiere of Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor’s new film, “Ulajh,” held in Mumbai on Thursday evening. Invited by Janhvi herself, Rekha’s affectionate gesture on the red carpet has left fans deeply moved.

A touching video from the event captures Rekha gently touching and kissing a large background banner of the film’s poster, featuring Janhvi Kapoor, as if bestowing her blessings on Janhvi and her latest cinematic endeavor.

Fans of both Rekha and Sridevi fondly remembered the close bond the two actresses shared. Comments flooded in, with one fan noting, “Sri and Rekha were very close.” Another added, “She is like an old granny of Bollywood stars.” Many highlighted Rekha’s longstanding maternal instincts, recalling an old interview where she lovingly brushed her dog’s coat, symbolizing her nurturing nature. Rekha has also been a guiding force for her younger siblings, having practically raised and settled them.

At the premiere, Rekha looked resplendent in a peach-colored tissue silk saree, her hair adorned with flowers in her signature style. She joined Janhvi on the red carpet, holding her hand as they posed for photos, further solidifying the bond between the two families.

About ‘Ulajh’

“Ulajh” stars Janhvi Kapoor as Suhana, the youngest Deputy High Commissioner, who undertakes a difficult mission at the London embassy. Her performance aims to break stereotypes and address issues of nepotism directly. The film also stars Gulshan Devaiah as a mysterious undercover agent, adding layers of suspense to the plot. The trailer suggests a tangled web of secrets and betrayals, indicating an internal leak that puts undercover agents’ lives at risk and forces Suhana into a frantic struggle for survival.

Scripted by Sudhanshu Saria and Parveez Shaikh, with dialogue by Atika Chauhan and presented by Junglee Pictures, “Ulajh” is set to release on August 2.
