Missed Opportunity in Ramayana
The actor, all set for Netflix’s Jewel Thief’s release according to the recent update, had earlier been given a role to play Ravana’s righteous brother Vibhishana in Ramayana which starred Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash.
However, Jaideep Ahlawat had to let go of the opportunity of Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial due to prior work commitments and scheduling conflicts.
Ranbir Kapoor Opens Up on Playing Lord Rama
Recently Ranbir Kapoor also spoke about the magnum opus and playing the character of Lord Rama. “I am currently working on Ramayana, which is the greatest story around. My childhood friend Namit Malhotra, somebody who is so passionately making this book, has got the best of all the artists, all the creative people, and the crew. It is directed by Nitesh Tiwari,” Ranbir Kapoor said at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah.
Ravi Dubey Praises Ranbir’s Humility
Ravi Dubey, who plays the role of Laxman in the magnum opus, recently praised Ranbir Kapoor. “Ranbir is incredibly kind, one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. He is very warm and welcoming. We were just discussing humility earlier. When someone attains massive success, especially sudden success, they become widely admired and loved. With that comes immense credibility for their performances, along with the freedom to carry themselves in a certain way something many actors embrace,” he told PinkVilla.
Star-Studded Cast in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana
In Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor will be essaying the role of Lord Ram. He will be joined by Sai Pallavi who has been roped in for the role of Goddess Sita. Notably, Sai replaced Alia Bhatt to play Goddess Sita in the film. However, she backed out due to dates-related issues. In what generated the most excitement around the cast of the movie, KGF star Yash will portray Ravana in the film with Sunny Deol also on board to play Hanuman’s role.
