Writer and director Tahira Kashyap, who earned praise for her bravery and honesty regarding her struggle with breast cancer in 2018, has revealed that her cancer has recurred. Tahira, who is also married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana, had undergone chemotherapy and a mastectomy at the time of her initial diagnosis. She had been very vocal about the psychological and physical impact, including the feeling of going bald.
Now, in a deeply personal post on Instagram, she revealed the relapse. Posting on Monday morning, Tahira wrote in the caption, “Whenever life presents you with lemons, make lemonade. If life gets too generous and throws them to you again, you squeeze them peacefully into your favorite kala khatta drink and enjoy it with all the good intentions. Because for one it’s a superior drink and two you know that you will do your best once again (red heart emoji).”
Her message went on in the post, “Seven year itch or the power of frequent screening – it’s a attitude, I’d prefer to choose the latter and recommend the same for all who require frequent mammograms. Round 2 for me. I still got this.
