Bollywood actor Sonu Sood’s wife, Sonali Sood (54), and her sister, Sumita Salve (55), were injured in a serious car accident on the Mumbai-Nagpur highway late Monday night. The accident took place on the Wardha Road flyover, within the jurisdiction of Sonegaon police station.
Car Collides with Stationary Truck
According to police reports, Sonali and Sumita were returning home from Nagpur airport when the accident occurred. Their car, driven by Sonali’s nephew, crashed into a stationary truck from behind. The impact left both women injured, requiring immediate medical attention.
Following the crash, both Sonali and Sumita were rushed to a hospital, where they are currently under medical observation. Meanwhile, Sonali’s nephew, who sustained only minor injuries, was treated with first aid and discharged soon after. Dr. Abhijeet Bhatkulkar of Max Hospital confirmed that their condition is being closely monitored. Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Sonu Sood’s Arrest Warrant Issued in Fraud Case
In a separate legal development, a court in Punjab has issued an arrest warrant against Sonu Sood in connection with an alleged fraud case. The warrant was issued by Ludhiana Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur after Sood failed to appear before the court.
The case revolves around a complaint filed by Ludhiana-based lawyer Rajesh Khanna against Mohit Shukla. Khanna claims he was deceived into investing Rs 10 lakh in a fake Rijika coin scheme. Allegedly, Sonu Sood is linked to the case, prompting the court to summon him. However, after he failed to comply with the summons, the arrest warrant was issued.
The Ludhiana court has now directed the officer in charge of Oshiwara Police Station, Andheri West, Mumbai, to arrest Sonu Sood and present him in court. The official order states, “Sonu Sood, resident of Casablanca Apartment, has been duly served with summons or warrants but has failed to attend, absconding to avoid service.”
As of now, Sonu Sood has not issued any official statement regarding either the car accident involving his wife and sister-in-law or the legal proceedings against him. With the actor facing both personal and legal challenges, all eyes are on his next move.
