Composed by Amit Trivedi, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and vocals by Madhubanti Bagchi, ‘Uyi Amma’ adds to the anticipation for ‘Azaad’. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor, the film is set in the Pre-Independence era and also marks the debut of Aaman Devgn, Ajay Devgn’s nephew.
The film introduces the hero Ajay Devgn, a rebel leading the fight against British rule. Aaman is introduced under Ajay’s guidance, and is drawn to his jet-black horse, Azaad, that epitomized freedom and power. Rasha played the role of the royal member, and the love story begins between her and Aaman, not without its issues.
Elated over the same, Rasha further shared with Hindustan Times, “Azaad is special to me since it’s my debut project. There’s nothing better than Abhishek sir believing in me and providing me with an opportunity. Altogether, it has been beautiful and really a special journey altogether.
The film also stars Diana Penty, Mohit Malik, and Piyush Mishra. The trailer released earlier this week has got people eagerly waiting for ‘Azaad’, scheduled to release on January 17, 2025.
