The wedding of Jeet Adani, the younger son of industrialist Gautam Adani, and Diva Shah on February 7 in Ahmedabad is set to be a meaningful celebration that blends tradition with social impact. While the Adani family has denied speculation about a grand affair featuring global celebrities like Taylor Swift, the event is gaining attention for its emphasis on inclusivity and empowerment.
Supporting NGOs and Artisans
As part of their commitment to a socially responsible celebration, Jeet Adani and Diva Shah have collaborated with several NGOs supported by the Adani Group. The couple recently visited Mitti Café at Mumbai Airport, an establishment run by people with disabilities, to personally invite its team to their wedding. Additionally, the Adani family has partnered with organizations such as Family of Disabled (FOD) from Delhi and Kai Rassi from Chennai to incorporate their work into the wedding.
FOD, which empowers people with disabilities by fostering financial independence, will create hand-painted shawls for the couple. Meanwhile, Kai Rassi will contribute placards and digitally printed plates, allowing their artisans to showcase their talents.
Exclusive Wedding Gifts for Guests
Guests at the wedding will receive handwoven Paithani sarees, crafted by 400 artisans associated with Jagdish Ji Shankari Paithani Sarees from Nashik. The Adani Foundation has also engaged its network of artisans to provide handcrafted items for the occasion.
Among the artisans contributing to the wedding are Nikita Ji from Ahmedabad, who will create custom beaded necklaces and kamarbandhs, and Prakash Ji, a nail artist known for his intricate bookmarks made using his fingernail technique. A father-daughter duo, Munna Ji and Nazmeen from Firozabad, will contribute exquisite glass art pieces that will be used as wedding props.
Bibaji Churi Wala from Jodhpur will supply three types of traditional Lac bangles, while Nitaben and her self-help group Meghdhanush Saheli from Mundra—associated with the Adani Foundation since 2016—will provide handcrafted mud art pieces.
A Private Celebration
Despite its elaborate planning and social initiatives, Gautam Adani has reiterated that the wedding will be an intimate gathering, attended only by close family and friends. However, the emphasis on supporting artisans and NGOs ensures that the celebration leaves a lasting impact beyond the wedding festivities.
