Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam’s live concert at Delhi Technological University’s (DTU) Engifest 2025 turned chaotic when students threw stones and plastic bottles at him. The event, held on March 23 (Sunday), forced the singer to stop mid-performance and urge the crowd to behave.

Massive Crowd Overwhelms the Venue

More than one lakh students gathered at the university to attend the concert, leading to overcrowding and unruly behavior. Reports suggest that the security struggled to control the excited audience, making it difficult to maintain order.

Sonu Nigam Pleads for Calm

As objects started flying toward the stage, Sonu Nigam directly addressed the crowd, urging them to stop. He said, “Main aapke liye aaya hoon yahan pe so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please aisa na kariye (I have come here for you so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please don’t do this).”

Concerns for Team’s Safety

According to a Hindustan Times report, Nigam expressed concern for his team members, fearing they might get hurt. Despite the tense situation, he tried to manage the crowd with patience.

Singer Stays Silent on Social Media

Although Nigam posted multiple videos from his energetic performance on Instagram, he did not mention the disruption. Fans flooded his comments with praise, but some also raised concerns about the incident.

Authorities have not released an official statement regarding the chaos. However, the incident highlights the growing concern over crowd management at large-scale university events.
