Arijit Singh Takes Best Male Playback Singer Award at 70th National Film Awards

Arijit Singh has been honored with the Best Male Playback Singer award at the 70th National Film Awards for his performance of “Kesariya” from the film Brahmastra. The romantic song quickly became a fan favorite, celebrated for its moving lyrics and Singh’s emotive vocals. In addition to Singh’s recognition, Pritam received the National Award for Best Music for the same film.

The winners of the 70th National Film Awards were announced on Friday in the national capital. The jury for this year’s awards included Rahul Rawail, Chairperson of the Feature Film Jury; Nila Madhab Panda, Chairperson of the Non-Feature Film Jury; and Gangadhar Mudalair, Chairperson of the Best Writing on Cinema Jury.

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is the first installment in a planned trilogy set in the Astraverse. The film features a star-studded cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The story revolves around Shiva, a DJ who discovers his unique connection to the element of fire and his ability to awaken the Brahmastra, a powerful and potentially destructive supernatural weapon.
