Blast Outside CRPF School in Delhi: Authorities Probe Possible Khalistani Link

Authorities in Delhi have launched an investigation into a possible Khalistani connection to the explosion that occurred outside the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in Rohini on Sunday, October 20, according to the news agency PTI on Monday.

The probe into a Khalistani link began after a social media post claimed the blast was retaliation for the alleged targeting of pro-Khalistan separatists by Indian agents. In a message shared on Telegram, the pro-Khalistan group Justice League India stated, “If Indian coward agency and their master think they can hire filthy goons to target our members to silence our voice then they live in fools world. They can’t imagine how close we are to them and how capable we are to strike anytime.”

The explosion, which was reported to the Delhi police at approximately 7:47 am IST on Sunday, did not result in any injuries. However, it caused damage to the school building, shattered the glass windows of nearby shops, and harmed a car parked in the vicinity. A foul smell was also detected at the site where the school wall had been damaged.

“Fortunately, no one was injured,” stated the police. Initial findings suggested that the explosive material resembled a crude bomb. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and checking the sewer line in the area to gather more information about the type of blast.

Specialized teams from the National Security Guard (NSG), the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were also deployed to the location for further inspection.

In response to the incident, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi criticized the central government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), over its handling of security matters in the capital. “The incident of a bomb blast outside a school in Rohini is exposing the crumbling security system of Delhi. The responsibility of law and order in Delhi lies with the BJP’s central government. But the BJP, leaving this work, spends all its time obstructing the work of the elected government of Delhi,” Atishi expressed in a post on X.

She further added, “This is the reason why the situation in Delhi today is like the Mumbai underworld era of the 1990s. Bullets are being fired openly in the city, gangsters are extorting money, and the morale of criminals is high.”
