In a recent development, BJP leaders from Udaipur and Banswara divisions have raised serious corruption allegations against Arjun Singh Bamaniya, MLA from Banswara and former Minister of State for Tribal Development in the previous Congress government. The leaders have approached Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, urging the formation of a high-level inquiry committee to investigate the alleged wrongdoings.
The accusations centre around the Tribal Development Department (TDD), where the construction work was reportedly carried out by the Swachh department, functioning like an NGO and involved in eradication work.
The complaint asserts that the Swachh department was awarded construction work until 2019-23 without the proper issuance of tenders, a clear violation of regulations. The construction projects, valued at crores, were supposed to be executed across the state at BSR rates.
The complaint points fingers at Bamaniya, claiming his significant involvement in awarding construction contracts to favoured entities through the Swachh Department, potentially for substantial commissions. Moreover, the minister is indirectly linked to various firms.
