The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) convened at its headquarters Sunday to lock down candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. The meeting, part of the BJP’s Central Election Committee activities, drew a significant presence, headlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Party stalwarts, including former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Pralhad Joshi, made their way to the venue. Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah was seen at BJP Chief JP Nadda’s residence. Both leaders, alongside PM Modi, JP Nadda, and other election committee members, played pivotal roles in today’s discussions.
Inside sources reveal that the talks centered around 60-70 Rajasthan seats and 31 Chhattisgarh seats. As part of its strategy, the BJP has categorized all contesting seats across states into A, B, C, and D tiers, each reflecting the party’s performance history in those areas. Category A seats represent strongholds, while Category D indicates continuous losses in the last three elections.
