J&K BJP chief Ravinder Raina expressed confidence today that the BJP would emerge as the single largest party in the upcoming J&K Assembly elections, with results due on October 8.

Addressing a press conference in Jammu, Raina hailed the recent elections as “historic,” noting an unprecedented voter turnout in a region long marred by political and security challenges. “This was the first time in over a decade that J&K saw such peaceful elections. The people have spoken, and they’ve chosen to place their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas, Sab Ka Vishwas’,” Raina said. He asserted that the BJP is on track to win a full majority and form the government on its own.

When questioned about who would assume the role of Chief Minister if the BJP wins, Raina deflected the focus. “It doesn’t matter who the Chief Minister will be. What matters is that the BJP wins with a clear majority. That’s the true victory,” he stated, adding that the massive campaigns led by top leaders including Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and UP CM Yogi Adityanath have had a profound impact.

He further claimed, “Not only in Jammu, but we will see the lotus bloom in Kashmir as well.”

When asked whether the BJP would appoint a Hindu or Dogra Chief Minister, Raina cryptically responded, “Thoda intezar ka maza lijiye (Enjoy the suspense until October 8).”

Raina took a moment to thank the police, CRPF, BSF, and other security forces for ensuring peaceful elections. He also lauded the Election Commission of India and the LG administration for making “flawless arrangements” that ensured the polls were conducted without incident.

Closing his remarks, Raina extended Navratri greetings to the people of J&K and the rest of the country, hinting at a BJP victory celebration on October 8: “We will mark this festival with BJP’s grand win.”
