After the recent swearing-in of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister in Rajasthan, the process of forming the cabinet has gained momentum. While earlier, the central minister and BJP in-charge were in Jaipur, prominent leaders associated with the Rajasthan BJP are now engaged in a brainstorming session in Delhi.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, along with Deputy CM Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa, visited the national capital to discuss the new cabinet during meetings. A meeting was organised at the residence of BJP’s National President JP Nadda, attended by Central Home Minister Amit Shah, Central Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Kailash Chaudhary, former opposition leader Rajendra Rathore, organisation secretary Chandra Shekhar, and other senior officials.
Sources indicate that the meeting focused on discussions about potential ministers in the first phase, including considerations about which minister might be assigned to which department. Approximately 25 names were discussed, with unanimous agreement on about 15 legislators. Among them, around 5–7 are expected to be new faces entering the ministry for the first time, and there is a possibility of assigning ministerial positions to about 3 female legislators.
Currently, around 15 ministers can be appointed in Rajasthan, considering that the constitutional rules allow a maximum of 30 ministers, including the Chief Minister. Legislators are reaching out to leaders close to the high command to strengthen their candidacies. Party sources suggest that new faces will be included in the cabinet alongside senior legislators, maintaining caste balance for electoral advantages in the Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting also touched upon discussions regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with efforts aimed at winning all 25 seats. Nadda has instructed office bearers through the Viksit Bharat ankalp Yatra, and legislators, as well as MLA aspirants, have been asked to work in their respective constituencies. The journey is planned for about 40 days, emphasising the importance of ensuring that every individual benefits from flagship schemes.
Discussions on probable cabinet names have already taken place in the meeting with Nadda. In the final round of discussions, names will be deliberated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, National President JP Nadda, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will be present in this final round, and before finalising names from the high command, he will also seek opinions, as all ministers will work under his leadership.
Probable names discussed in the meeting included Kirorilal Meena, Pushpendra Singh Ranawat, Phool Singh Meena, Jawahar Singh Bedam, Shatrughan Gautam, Hiralal Nagar, Pratap Singh Singhvi, Sanjay Sharma, Bhairaram Siyol, Jhabar Singh Khara, Ajay Singh Kilak, Mahant Pratappuri, Siddhi Kumari, Anita Bhadel, Jogeshwar Garg, and Madan Dilawar. New faces like Deepti Maheshwari, Jitendra Gothwal, Shailendra Singh, Sumit Godara, Hemant Meena, Gopal Sharma, Shailendra Singh, and Jitendra Gothwal were also discussed, with the likelihood that first-time ministers may be appointed as state ministers.
