Himachal BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal said, “An extremely significant event in the history of India post-independence occurred today when the honorable Home Minister of the country, Amit Shah, and the Chief Minister of Assam, Hemant Biswa Sarma, signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), marking the establishment of peace in the region of Assam and its surroundings.”
It is noteworthy that in the past 40-50 years, more than 10,000 innocent lives have been lost due to this terrorism. Billions of rupees worth of property has been destroyed, and the development of the northeastern region has been hindered. Adding further Bindal state that today, with the efforts of Narendra Bhai Modi’s government and Amit Bhai Shah, the path to peace has been cleared.
