Bar Associations’ election witnesses enthusiastic participation

After the Assembly elections, elections were conducted on Friday for approximately 250 bar associations across the state. The voting process encompassed bar associations ranging from Tehsil to High Court levels, with the participation of about 1 lakh 4 thousand advocates. The counting of votes is scheduled to take place simultaneously across all locations on Saturday.

These elections were conducted under the rule of, ‘one vote one time.’ The Rajasthan High Court had determined that the voting would take place on the Friday of the second week of December, a decision upheld by the Supreme Court. The voting process commenced at the High Court Bar Association Jaipur at 9 am and continued until 5 pm.

The annual elections for 2023-24 for various bar associations, including the High Court Bar Association Jaipur, The Bar Association Jaipur, The District Advocates Bar Association Jaipur, and Sanganer Bar Association, took place on Friday. A total of 4,660 voters participated in the High Court Bar Association Jaipur, 5,473 in the Bar Association Jaipur, 1,412 in the District Bar Association Jaipur, and 356 in the Sanganer Bar Association.

Surveillance maintained through CCTV cameras
Simultaneously, CCTV cameras were installed in the High Court Bar Association and The Bar Association to monitor the elections, ensuring transparency in the process. Live footage from these cameras was displayed on LEDs installed in the court premises. Additionally, dedicated election teams comprising 225 members for the High Court Bar elections and 150 for the Bar Association elections closely monitored the voting process, ensuring a fair and impartial electoral procedure.

Candidates for High Court Bar Association, Jaipur
High Court Bar Association Jaipur election conducting officials said that in the High Court Bar Association elections, five candidates are in the fray for the post of President, eight for the post of General Secretary and five for the post of Vice President. Prahlad Sharma, Mahendra Shandilya, Rishiraj Rathore, Indresh Sharma and Rajeev Kumar Sogarwal are in the fray for the post of President.

Eight candidates, Dr Sanjay Khedar, Sushil Pujari, Dharmendra Jain, Rohit Sharma, Ankit Sethi, Ramit Pareek, Sunil Jakhar and Dr Ramroop Meena are contesting for the post of General Secretary. Also, five candidates are in the fray for the post of Vice President, Nikhilesh Katara, Ashok Kumar Yadav, Babulal Sharma, Sunil Kumar Sharma and Sandeep Kumar Meena. Similarly, Saurabh Dubey, Shekhar Shashank Pachauri, Chitank Sharma, and Kuldeep Sharma are contesting for the post of Joint Secretary and Preeti Sharma and Yogesh Taylor are contesting for the post of Treasurer.

Candidates for The Bar Association
Eight candidates are in the fray for the post of President in The Bar Association elections: Sandeep Luhadia, Pawan Sharma, Bhupendra Bhardwaj, Somesh Sharma, Lokesh Sharma, Rajendra Sharma Dangarwada, Vijay Singh Poonia and Surendra Singh Rajawat. Whereas 9 candidates are contesting for the post of General Secretary, Rajkumar Sharma, Manish Gagrani, Pankaj Sharma Pachalangia, Vikram Singh Parihar, Arjun Rajpurohit, Kul Bhushan Gaur, Sunil Gupta, Rekha Kachhawa and Pushpendra Kumar Bhardwaj. Chandra Shekhar Kachhawa, Lakshmi Sharma, Manoj Sharma, Mohanlal Bairwa, Naresh Kumar Sain, Ramesh Chandra Sharma, Ravindra Kumar Sharma and Vandana Mathuria Gupta are contesting for the post of Vice President.

Election Operation Officer of The District Advocates Bar Association Jaipur, Anil Chaturvedi said that two candidates Gajraj Singh Rajawat and Sunil Sharma are in the fray for the post of President in the District Advocates Bar elections. Two candidates, Akhilesh Kumar Joshi and Narendra Singh Rajawat are also contesting for the post of General Secretary
