Attack on Mahant Achyutanand sparks protest

Following the assault on Mahant Achyutanand Maharaj, the leader of the prominent pilgrimage site Beneshwar Dham in Wagad, there is a prevailing sense of outrage in the entire community. To voice their dissent against the attack on the Mahant, the entire community and the Sabla Business Association orchestrated a rally, articulating their opposition. In addition, they remained indefinitely closed as a form of protest.
Upon receiving information on Sunday morning about the lethal attack on Mahant Achyutanand Maharaj of Beneshwar Dham, public outrage ensued. Following this incident, a meeting was convened in the morning by the Sabla Business Association and the entire community, during which a decision was made to shut down the town. Consequently, shopkeepers complied and closed their respective establishments.

A rally was held and a memorandum was submitted to SDM
In the meantime, members of the entire community organized a rally and marched to the SDM office. Upon reaching the office, they submitted a memorandum to the SDM, urging the prompt arrest of the accused. Additionally, they issued a warning that if the accused were not apprehended promptly, an intense agitation would be carried out. Following his visit to his ailing mother in Saroda, Peethadheeshwar Mahant Achyutanand Maharaj, the head of Beneshwar Dham, was returning to Sabla Hari Temple on Saturday night. During the journey, unidentified miscreants launched a stone attack, shattering the car’s glass and causing injuries to the Mahant’s mouth and jaws. Promptly, he was transported to a private hospital in Sagwada, where he was admitted to the ICU. Subsequently, due to his critical condition, the Mahant was referred to Ahmedabad for further treatment.
The Saroda police station is actively involved in the search for the culprits responsible for the attack. However, as of now, the identity of the miscreants remains undisclosed. During the assault, the Mahant’s wife and two children were present in the car, fortunately escaping any injuries. Upon learning of the attack, Minister Mahendrajit Singh Malviya, MP Kanakmal Katara, and several others rushed to the hospital to meet the Mahant. Given his critical condition, he has been subsequently referred to Ahmedabad, where he is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
