The government of Punjab is set to launch the Atta-Dal scheme for the welfare of the state’s citizens. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has given the green signal to this new scheme prepared by the Food and Civil Supplies Department. The scheme is scheduled to kick off on November 27, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of the Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Under this initiative, free home delivery of wheat, flour, and pulses will be provided to the homes of economically disadvantaged individuals in the state.
Official Launch in November
According to information available, the official commencement of home delivery of these essentials under the scheme is expected to start in January next year. However, the formal inauguration of this scheme is currently underway this month.
Benefiting 1.42 crore peopleThrough Punjab’s Atta-Dal scheme, a total of 1.42 crore people in the state will be eligible to receive the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Kalyan Anna Yojana from the comfort of their homes. The government aims to distribute 72,500 metric tons of rations every month under the Atta-Dal scheme. As per the plan, the allocation of wheat has already been made under the National Food Security Act from October to December. The distribution among the people has also commenced. Home delivery to beneficiaries is expected to begin in January next year. The government has also identified three dozen flour mills for wheat milling.
Nasha Mukt Punjab Campaign
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann of Punjab led a cycle rally on the martyrdom day of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha. In this rally, CM Mann cycled with thousands of youth covering a distance of 13 kilometers. Through this rally, CM Mann raised awareness among more than 25,000 youths about the Nasha Mukt Punjab campaign.
