Astronaut Matthew Dominick, currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS), continues to amaze his followers with stunning images from space. His latest post showcases a captivating view of Earth, featuring a striking detail—a “single lightning strike” captured in the photo.
In his post, Dominick described the scene, highlighting the green lights from fishing boats in Southeast Asia, city lights, and an upcoming sunrise. What stands out is the lightning strike on the left side of the image, which he likened to a nebula. He explained that the photo was part of a sequence of around 1,000 images taken with a camera set on an intervalometer, designed to capture lightning.
In a follow-up post, Dominick shared a close-up of the lightning strike, emphasizing how it illuminated the clouds, giving it a nebula-like appearance.
The post quickly gained attention, amassing over 74,000 views and nearly 800 likes. Enthralled X users flooded the comments with praise.
