A ground-level survey of the Etah parliamentary constituency was conducted by India News to analyse the performance of Rajveer Singh, the Member of Parliament from Etah, and to gather voters’ feedback about him. Rajveer Singh is an Indian politician, who is a member of Bharatiya Janata Party and has won the 2014 Indian general elections from Etah. Etah, renowned as the birthplace of Sufi saint Amir Khusro, holds immense historical and political significance. Traditionally a Samajwadi Party stronghold known as Yadavland, the dynamics shifted in 2009, and Rajveer Singh of the BJP, son of former UP CM Kalyan Singh, now represents the Lok Sabha seat.

Affectionately called Raju Bhaiya, his active political engagement and popularity led to successful terms from 2014 to 2019. Etah, with approximately 17 lakh voters, witnessed a shift from Yadav dominance to influence by Lodhi-Rajput and Shaky voters, altering the election landscape. Despite slow development, caste considerations often outweigh developmental issues in this parliamentary constituency.

The upcoming 2024 general elections are significant for Etah Lok Sabha. Before the elections, the public is likely to scrutinize the work of their MP. India News is also conducting accurate surveys to gauge public opinion. Hence, it remains to be seen what Rajveer Singh’s report card will look like from Etah in the upcoming elections – a pass or fail.

So, in the Parliament, considering attendance, the number of questions asked, MP’s expenditure, and special contributions, Etah’s MP Rajveer Singh scores 1 number, receiving a total of 0.84 numbers, which is 84%, making it quite satisfactory. The parliamentary performance holds very little significance during the election. The real criterion is what the public thinks about their Member of Parliament on the ground.
