A ground-level survey of the Amroha parliamentary constituency was conducted by India News to analyse the performance of Kunwar Danish Ali, the Member of Parliament from Amroha, and to gather voters’ feedback about him. Kunwar Danish Ali, a Member of Lok Sabha for Amroha since 2019, joined the Bahujan Samaj Party in March 2019 after leaving the Janata Dal (Secular). Amaroha, globally known for mangoes and the dholak, raises anticipation for the 2024 general elections. The Lok Sabha seat in Amaroha has never been a stronghold for any party, fostering a Ganga-Jamuni culture, allowing voters to explore opportunities from various parties.
Presently, Kunwar Danish Ali from BSP holds the seat. The political history dates back to 1957, with BJP and Congress each winning thrice. The Janata Party succeeded twice, while BSP secured victories in 1999 and 2019. Amaroha, with around 1.7 million voters, faces developmental disparities, particularly in rural areas. The predominantly Muslim voter base plays a pivotal role in election outcomes, with political focus on Muslim, Jat, and Saini voters.
