A ground-level survey of the Amroha parliamentary constituency was conducted by India News to analyse the performance of Kunwar Danish Ali, the Member of Parliament from Amroha, and to gather voters’ feedback about him. Kunwar Danish Ali, a Member of Lok Sabha for Amroha since 2019, joined the Bahujan Samaj Party in March 2019 after leaving the Janata Dal (Secular). Amaroha, globally known for mangoes and the dholak, raises anticipation for the 2024 general elections. The Lok Sabha seat in Amaroha has never been a stronghold for any party, fostering a Ganga-Jamuni culture, allowing voters to explore opportunities from various parties.

Presently, Kunwar Danish Ali from BSP holds the seat. The political history dates back to 1957, with BJP and Congress each winning thrice. The Janata Party succeeded twice, while BSP secured victories in 1999 and 2019. Amaroha, with around 1.7 million voters, faces developmental disparities, particularly in rural areas. The predominantly Muslim voter base plays a pivotal role in election outcomes, with political focus on Muslim, Jat, and Saini voters. Elections often see voters entangled in religion and caste-based voting, overshadowing development issues.

As the 2024 elections approach, scrutiny of the MP’s work is anticipated, using criteria established by India News for assessment. The community of Amroha has candidly responded to our five inquiries, shedding light on the performance of Member of Parliament (MP) Kunwar Danish Ali. A prevailing sentiment is praise for the MP’s work, with many evading the question of affording him another opportunity. While concerns about the MP’s performance exist, the influence of the Modi factor seems more significant than the actions of the MP.

Evaluating regional development and commitment fulfillment, Amroha residents assign Kunwar Danish Ali a commendable score of 5, particularly noteworthy at 3.15. In the India News survey, parallel questions were posed, and an additional assessment of ground performance places the MP at an impressive 69%, securing a score of 1.38 out of 2.

Shifting to parliamentary performance, the era of social media is recognized, prompting a 20% allocation for assessment. The MP attains a noteworthy score of 1.32 out of 2 in the social media survey, reflecting a 66% satisfaction rate among Amroha residents.
