Congress is engaged in introspection due to defeat in Rajasthan. A meeting of newly elected MLAs was called at the state headquarters on Tuesday. In this meeting of the legislative party, along with the leaders of the state Congress, all three observers appointed by the AICC also took feedback from the MLAs. Meanwhile, a proposal to leave the decision to the high command was also passed. All the party MLAs participated in the meeting. Meanwhile, Dr Subhash Garg, the victorious MLA from Bharatpur from the National Lok Dal, also reached. The issue of internal damage in the election was also raised in this meeting.
In the meeting, the former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said, “I believed that the government would be formed. There was no wave against the government in the state. Rajasthan was a state where there was no atmosphere against the government. While it happens that where there is a government, there is much against the government. BJP succeeded in polarization.” In this meeting, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, State President Govind Singh Dotasra, State in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Sachin Pilot, along with the co-in-charge and observers sent by the AICC, were present.
After the meeting, he said, “We fought the election on issues, while BJP fought on Kanhaiya Lal…In Rajasthan, various rumours were spread.”
Searching for a candidate for Lok Sabha starting now: Gehlot
Gehlot said that the Congress party is concerned about the country, rather than worrying about the loss. He said, “The judiciary in the country is being blown away. In such a situation, it is necessary to think about what will happen in the country.”
The former Chief Minister said, “I suggested in the meeting that the search for a candidate for the Lok Sabha should start from now on. At the same time, an appeal has been made to the workers to prepare for the Lok Sabha elections.”
Sachin Pilot said, “Youth must be brought forward.”
After the meeting, speaking to the media, Tonk MLA Sachin Pilot said, “We have to accept and improve the shortcomings. Along with this, youth should be brought forward. It is necessary to talk about the future leaving aside the things of the past.”
At the same time, he said, “Preparation has to be done for the Lok Sabha elections from now on. We hoped that the government would be formed again in Rajasthan this time.
A lot of hard work was done for this. Despite this, there were some shortcomings, and we have to accept these shortcomings. What were the shortcomings and what improvements need to be made for success, there is a need for a detailed discussion on this.” Meanwhile, Pilot said that in the coming time, Congress can form a strong opposition to all issues related to the public, from the Assembly to the roads.
MLA Juber Khan said, “We could not reach our plans to the grassroots level, so we lost the election. The real strength of the party comes from the ordinary workers. If agencies are given importance instead of workers, there will be damage.”
MLA Subhash Garg said, “This defeat is not due to high command or the Chief Minister. The defeat is of the candidates. For this, the responsibility cannot be placed on the high command or Gehlot. OSD Lokesh Sharma, who gave a statement against Gehlot, has no status.”
MLA Ashok Chandna said, “The government has done a lot of work. In the coming time, we will play a strong role as a strong opposition. We will fight on all the issues related to the people connected with the people of Rajasthan, from the assembly to the road. We will perform well in the Lok Sabha elections.”
