Delhi based leading contemporary artist, Shubhra Das’s tryst with nature is evident in her latest works of art, displayed at the recently concluded NGO Khushii’s group exhibition, Strokes of Perfection, featuring masters and the best of Indian contemporary artists. Now the artist is all set to participate in the forthcoming Group Art Show, Rhapsody in Red by Polka Art Gallery from Apr 27th till May 19th, 2023 in Goa. Her artworks emphasize and symbolize nature’s tremendous power to create and nurture. Shubhra believes, as a being, one is cocooned by nature. The flowing forms epitomize the thoughts on nature being the protective cradle where life, numerous in numbers have existence that is overlapping. Being the source of all creation and the giver; for Shubhra, Nature is highly revered. So, she believes in preserving and giving back in any small way to Nature. The act of giving and sharing, deeply rooted in love & compassion, balances the receiving.
Shubhra Das says, “Nature and all the myriad elements are intertwined in my work. I see so much of mystery in these overlappings. This makes me curious to know the many connections and parallel existences of so many beings. My art becomes a portrayal of the sequence of thoughts. The connection I perceive physiologically have emotional and sub-conscious dimensions too. I love to convert my thoughts into visual forms, fragmented folded spaces, lines and other elements. My sensitivities are witness to numerous thoughts and experiences, & many emotions and feelings channeling through me. This inner narrative is depicted as dialogues between me and my other reflections or other beings, in an invisible passage of time. There is positivity in continuity that she endeavors to preserve & strengthen.”
