In a heartbreaking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district, a 14-year-old girl from Pathra village lost her life after suffering severe burns from an acid attack. The girl endured a 350-kilometer journey in search of medical help, but tragically passed away on Tuesday due to delays in receiving critical treatment.
Details of the Attack
The attack occurred on Monday evening when two men, Prempal Singh (55) and his son Yogendra (25), allegedly abducted the girl and took her to a nearby field. According to the victim’s family, the men assaulted her and poured a corrosive liquid, believed to be acid, over her in what police have labeled a “revenge attack.” Despite her horrific injuries, the brave girl managed to return home and alert her family about the ordeal.

Medical Help Denied, Treatment Delayed
The family rushed the girl to Aarogyam Clinic in Meerut, 110 kilometers away, only to be denied treatment due to the lack of a medico-legal case. After being turned away, they lodged a police complaint and took her to LLRM Medical College in Meerut, but by then, too much time had been lost. The girl’s brother, Yashveer Singh, expressed his anguish, stating, “She might have survived had she received timely treatment.”
Attack Motivated by Family Feud
Police have linked the attack to a longstanding family feud. In 2020, Prempal and Yogendra were accused of killing the girl’s uncle, and they allegedly sought revenge on her family, believing they were wrongly implicated in the murder case. Both attackers have been arrested and charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, with additional charges expected following the girl’s death.
Clinic Denies Involvement
Aarogyam Clinic has denied receiving the girl as a patient, with clinic operator Pradeep Jain claiming, “We did not get any such patient, and our facility doesn’t treat burn cases.” LLRM Medical College also declined to comment on the case. The tragic incident has ignited outrage in the community, with many questioning the failure of medical facilities to provide timely care.
