The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has made a new revelation in their investigation of an eight-lakh rupee bribery case registered under the NDPS Act. According to the FIR filed by the ACB, the bribe amount was distributed among the Superintendent of Police (SP), Additional SP, Deputy SP, and Station House Officer (SHO). However, the ACB has not revealed the identities of the officers involved, and no investigation into their roles is currently underway.
Last week, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught Saurabh, the son of Fatehnagar SHO, Suresh Kumar Meena, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4.50 lakh in Udaipur. After the ACB’s action, SHO Suresh Meena and Head Constable Mahaveer of Dobok police station absconded. Currently, there are no leads on their whereabouts.
During the conversation between the accused and the complainant, the Head Constable said, “In the case, money will be required; only then will it be suppressed. The amount was ten lakh rupees, but I have fixed it at eight. After weighing the substance, he will talk to you. The division of money will be among all of us. The SP will get 4, the Deputy SP Madam, Additional SP, Dobok SHO, and Fatehnagar SHO will get 1-1. One share will come to me too.” The bribe amount was divided among Udaipur police officers. Only 3 identified- Saurabh, SHO Suresh Kumar Meena, and Head Constable Mahaveer. The accused demanded a Rs 4.50 lakh advance. However, the complainant was only able to arrange Rs 2.05 lakh. In an attempt to catch the accused, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arranged dummy notes worth Rs 2.45 lakh from the entertainment bank. The accused Suresh sent his son Saurabh to collect the bribe from the complainant, but the ACB caught Saurabh red-handed. Unfortunately, upon receiving the information, both accused went into hiding. Hemant Jha and his associates reported suspicious individuals trading illegal substances in front of their shop to the Dobok police. The case was transferred to Fatehnagar SHO for further investigation where officers demanded an eight-lakh bribe, delaying the investigation.
