Akhilesh, CM Yogi pay homage to Mulayam Singh Yadav on first death anniversary

Heartfelt tributes poured in from several political leaders on the first death anniversary of Samajwadi Party (SP) founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday paid his respects to former Defense Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on his death anniversary.

Chief Minister Yogi took to social media and said, “Humble tribute to former Defense Minister, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav on his death anniversary!”

A tribute ceremony was held at the late SP chief’s memorial site, the Saifai Mahotsav Ground. On this occasion, leaders, workers, and supporters of the Samajwadi Party pledged to follow his ideals. Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away on 10 October at the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram last year.

Party president Akhilesh Yadav paid his respects at his father’s memorial in Saifai. After offering his condolences, Akhilesh said, “Those who reside in people’s hearts never truly leave. Paying tribute to your principles and efforts with a dedicated commitment.” SP Chief National Secretary, Professor Ram Gopal Yadav, National Secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav, and Member of Parliament from Mainpuri, Dimple Yadav, along with other family members, also paid their respects at Mulayam Singh’s memorial site.

A havan and puja were also conducted at Akhilesh’s residence. Mulayam Singh’s memorial in his home village of Saifai was decorated with flowers, where thousands of people from across the state gathered to pay their respects and offer condolences.
