Despite hosting the Morbe Dam, Navi Mumbai grapples with a severe water shortage, prompting Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik to take a proactive stance. In a recent meeting with Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, MLA Naik emphasized the pressing need to address lingering problems, particularly the water scarcity issue, and discussed various unresolved civic concerns.

MLA Naik issues pen down protest warning
Expressing urgency, MLA Naik issued a warning that failure to promptly resolve issues, especially water problems, would lead to a collective “Pen Down Protest,” resulting in a halt to the operations of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

City residents voice water woes
Concerns among residents are rising due to water supply disruptions and low water pressure, with some areas receiving water only once a week. While Barvi Dam contributes only half of Navi Mumbai’s water supply, incidents of water theft are on the rise. MLA Naik criticized the perceived lack of commitment from municipal authorities and cautioned that unless water supply issues are rectified within the next fifteen days, municipal operations could face a shutdown.

MLA Naik calls for inquiry against officials
Expressing frustration, MLA Naik pointed out the neglectful behavior of certain self-serving and corrupt officials, accusing them of delaying essential projects under the influence of elements engaged in blackmail. He called for an inquiry into these officials’ actions and demanded strict action against those responsible for the negligence.
