Aditi Ashok finished strongly at the Amundi Evian Championship, birdieing three times in the last four holes to secure her best Major finish. She carded a 2-under 69, placing her tied for 17th.
This marks Aditi’s first Top-20 finish at a Major. Previously, her best performance was a tie for 22nd at the 2018 Women’s Open. Aditi shot rounds of 71, 70, 67, and 69 across the tournament.
Ayaka Furue finished impressively at the tournament, closing with three birdies from the 14th to the 16th holes and an eagle on the 18th to card a 69.
Aditi started with a bogey on the second hole, followed by several pars. She then birdied the 12th hole, but had a bogey and another birdie on the 13th, putting her at 1-over after 13 holes. According to reports, she then birdied the 15th and 16th holes, finishing with another birdie on the 18th.
Diksha Dagar, the other Indian participant, withdrew after completing the first round. Both Aditi and Diksha are slated to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Ayaka Furue clinched her inaugural major championship with a one-shot victory, sinking a remarkable eagle putt from 15 feet on the last green at Evian Resort Golf Club in France.
