Under the Nutrition Jagriti Pakhwada run by the Women and Child Development Department, various activities were organised in the Ramgarh Anganwadi today under the chairmanship of District Program Officer Dr. Savita Nehra. Dr. Savita Nehra provided comprehensive information about anaemia and nutrition to the women at the Anganwadi centre.

She explained that due to a lack of blood, the body faces problems like shortness of breath, fatigue, and rapid heartbeat. Dr. Nehra advised them to undergo HB tests regularly, consume iron-rich foods, and eat fruits such as beetroot, papaya, guava, etc. They were informed that cooking food in an iron pan also provides an abundance of iron. It was emphasised to include a source of Vitamin C with their meals. On Deworming Day, deworming medicines were distributed to the children present in the Anganwadi with the help of Asha workers, and mothers were also made aware of its importance. They were informed that this directly relates to the child’s development, and if there are worms in the child’s stomach, full development may be hindered. Deworming medicine helps eliminate stomach worms and enhances the child’s digestive capacity. The height and weight of children aged 0-5 years were cross-checked by the District Coordinator (Nutrition), and the data was verified on the smartphone provided to the Anganwadi worker by the department.
