Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Legislative Assembly and Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa on Monday severely rebuked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Punjab government for its plans to lease an aircraft amid the financial slowdown and natural calamity that the state is currently facing.
Referring to a tender notice published in various newspapers, Bajwa on Monday said that the AAP government now aimed to lease an eight to 10-seater fixed-wing jet aircraft. The senior Congress leader then said that before the last Assembly election, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann used to ridicule politicians in the state for creating a “VVIP culture”. “Now [Mann] has become an even bigger VVIP than his predecessors,” the LoP said.
“Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has no funds to provide relief to the flood victims in the state yet he has money to lease an 8 to 10-seater fixed-wing jet aircraft.
