With the farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s fast unto death has completed 50 days, now 111 farmers to also join his hunger strike at the Khanauri border from Wednesday. As per the farmer leaders these farmers will wear black clothes and protest at the Punjab-Haryana border, showing unity and resistance against the government’s inaction. The 111 farmers announced they would give up food and only drink water and their black attire to symbolize their struggle and solidarity. The farmers have made it clear that the hunger strike will continue until their demands are met.
Meanwhile, the doctors issued a medical update on Dallewal’s health on Tuesday, revealing that his body has stopped retaining water for the past 48 hours as he was not able to digest the water.
Doctors warned that his condition is moving towards multiple organ failure, which is extremely critical. Farmers are deeply concerned about Dallewal’s deteriorating health. Farmer leaders announced that the group of 111 farmers would peacefully sit near the police barricades in hunger strike tomorrow.
Farmer leaders criticized some BJP leaders for misleading people about the Minimum Support Price (MSP) issue instead of holding meaningful talks with protesting farmers.
On the other hand a group of farmers from Haryana’s Kaithal district on Tuesday joined the protest at Khanauri border in support of Dallewal.
