The account that was once active is now unreachable. When trying to locate Aubrey’s profile on Instagram, the notice appears: “Sorry, this page isn’t available. ”
The choice to remove her account comes as a reaction to the heartbreaking death of her husband, Jeff Baena, at the age of 47. Earlier this month, Jeff was discovered deceased at a residence in Los Angeles. Findings from the medical examiner reviewed by Us Weekly confirmed the death as suicide. No further reasons or suspicious circumstances were reported.
Born in Miami, Jeff studied film at New York University before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his career in the entertainment field.
Aubrey Plaza’s Statements on the Loss
Days prior, Aubrey addressed the tragedy surrounding her husband’s passing. “This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time,” Aubrey, along with Jeff’s family, relayed to Page Six on January 5.
Before presenting this statement, her representative communicated with Deadline, “The family is devastated and asks for privacy at this difficult time. ”
A Decade-Long Relationship
Aubrey and Jeff were together for over ten years before secretly marrying in 2020. The announcement of their marriage was disclosed by Aubrey in an Instagram post. The couple did not have any children.
Jeff was known for his work as a writer and director, earning praise for co-writing the 2004 independent film I Heart Huckabees, which starred Jude Law, Mark Wahlberg, and Naomi Watts. His other projects include 2014’s Life After Beth, 2020’s Horse Girl*, and 2022’s Spin Me Round.
