When wildfires ravaged parts of Los Angeles this week, real estate agent Jenna Cooper quickly mobilized her network to help those in need. She called on her friends for donations, which quickly gained traction among influential women, including Hollywood stars like Sharon Stone and Halle Berry. The effort snowballed into a widespread campaign to provide clothing and essential items to those displaced by the disaster.

Stars and Locals Join Forces to Donate Items

Halle Berry took to Instagram, sharing her commitment to help by packing up her entire closet, and encouraging others in Southern California to do the same. “This is something we can do right now,” she wrote.

Along with other donations, she contributed sweaters, shoes, handbags, and pajamas, ensuring that people who lost everything had access to necessities. Stone also lent her support, circulating information on social media to spread the word and help organize the donation drive.

A Pop-Up Shop Created for Displaced People

Cooper, who also owns the home goods store +COOP, transformed half of the space into a pop-up shop, offering free clothing to those affected by the fires. Many individuals in the area lost their homes, and the store became a sanctuary for them to gather supplies they desperately needed. Along with Cooper’s efforts, Hollywood figures like Stone and her sister Kelly volunteered, offering both their time and donations. Kelly even assisted shoppers, making sure they found items that reflected their style.

Support From Hollywood Stylists and Locals

The pop-up store received support from a wide range of professionals, including Hollywood stylist Lisa Cera, who donated two large bags of clothes and helped organize the space. Cera, who has worked with stars like the Kardashians, explained, “I know people who have lost everything, and even people I don’t know I’m devastated for.” She felt compelled to help in whatever way she could.

The Community Rises Amid Tragedy

Resident Ellen Bennett, whose mother lost her home in the Eaton fire, was grateful for the help, choosing essential items like socks, jackets, and running shoes. Cooper’s store became a beacon of hope, offering therapy dog support and helping victims regain some sense of normalcy. The outpouring of support from Los Angeles residents and celebrities showcased the power of community during a time of crisis.
