US President Joe Biden marked a joyous family milestone on January 8 as he became a great-grandfather. His granddaughter, Naomi Biden Neal, welcomed a baby boy, weighing 10 pounds, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.
“The good news is I’m a great-grandfather as of today,” Joe Biden said during a press conference about the ongoing California fires, according to a White House pool report. Shortly after, first-lady Jill Biden shared a photo of her and President Biden with their great-grandchild.

A Great-Grandfather’s Delight
The proud great-grandfather initially shared the news with reporters. Mistakenly announcing a “baby girl” before quickly correcting himself to confirm the birth of a baby boy. Jill Biden, the First Lady, introduced their great-grandson on social media with a heartwarming caption: “We are proud to introduce you to our great-grandson: William Brannon Neal, IV.”
The photo, featuring President Biden and Jill holding their great-grandchild, garnered an outpouring of love and congratulations online. One user commented, “Congratulations! He is blessed to have you two as his great-grandparents!”

Naomi Biden Neal and her husband, Peter Neal, tied the knot in November 2022. Naomi, the daughter of Hunter Biden and granddaughter of Joe Biden, carries a poignant family legacy. She was named after President Biden’s first born daughter, Naomi Christina Biden. Naomi was tragically passed away in a 1972 car accident alongside Biden’s first wife, Neilia.
President Biden had previously shared his excitement about the upcoming birth, revealing details during an interview with USA Today. He praised Naomi for her achievements. He heighlightes her career at a prestigious law firm and her education at Columbia Law School.
