A 2024 video has emerged showing podcast host Joe Rogan speaking out on the threat of a ‘big one,’ that would tear through California setting the entire west coast ablaze. He said this July 2024 episode of the podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, during a chat with comedian Sam Morrill.
Rogan, 57, recounts a conversation he had with a firefighter who had warned him about a fire that could potentially “burn through LA to the ocean.” He recalled the firefighter’s prediction: “One day, it’s just gonna be the right wind and fire’s gonna start in the right place and it’s gonna burn through LA all the way to the ocean and there’s not a f**ing thing we can do about it.”

Rogan told that the fires had a great impact on his decision to leave Los Angeles. “I was evacuated three times from my house from fires,” he said, adding that in one instance, “two houses in front of my house burned to the ground.”
The fiery prophecy has received new attention amidst raging wildfires that devour California with fierce intensity and scorch parts of the region. Continued conflagrations have killed at least 10 and destroyed thousands of homes and businesses in the Los Angeles area. That list of destroyed property includes that owned by Billy Crystal, Mandy Moore, and Paris Hilton, among many others.
Currently, fire officials are trying to determine how the fires began.
