Thrilled over party’s historic victory in Haryana assembly elections, now the BJP has decided to deploy its key leaders from Haryana for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
As per the information Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Minister Manohar Lal, and 14 other big leaders of the party have been given the responsibility to lead BJP’s campaign in Delhi with a special focus on OBC, Punjabi and Jat vote bank.
BJP has assigned 16 leaders from Haryana to different responsibilities. Faridabad MP and Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar will handle the campaign in 10 South Delhi constituencies, while Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda will focus on West Delhi.
Former Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta (Model Town), former ministers Kamal Gupta (Chandni Chowk), Banwari Lal (New Delhi), and Manish Grover (Greater Kailash) have been assigned to specific areas. Haryana BJP President Mohanlal Badoli (Badli) and former MP O.P. Yadav (Trilokpuri) will also play key roles.
Former Sirsa MP Sunita Duggal and former MLAs Bishamber Singh and Aseem Goel have been tasked with Deoli, Ambedkar Nagar, and Karol Bagh respectively. BJP’s campaign will highlight the “achievements” of the Saini government in Haryana and the party’s record-breaking third term victory in the state. Leaders have been directed to focus on BJP’s development agenda and compare it with Haryana’s governance success. As per the party leaders the Khattar-Saini duo will play a key role in spreading BJP’s message in Delhi with the party already has support of its top national leaders in the city state.
The BJP was eyeing OBC vote bank with an aggressive campaign by chief minister Nayab Saini government with a focus on several initiatives taken by the newly formed BJP government in Haryana under Saini’s leadership.
Besides, BJP’s campaign also reflects Delhi’s diverse caste makeup as Khattar and Grover are Punjabi, while leaders like Gurjar, Dalal, and Bishamber Singh represent the Gujjar, Jat, and Dalit communities, respectively.
In the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, AAP focused on promoting Arvind Kejriwal’s ties to Haryana, but that strategy failed as the party did not win a single seat. Now, BJP plans to use its Haryana leaders to challenge AAP in Delhi.
Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh and Haryana BJP President Mohanlal Badoli will oversee coordination between state and central leadership to ensure campaign success.
