EAM Jaishankar Engages with Global Delegates at PBD 2025

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India]: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar actively engaged with international delegates and state leaders during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2025 celebrations held in Bhubaneswar.

Strengthening India-Mauritius Ties:

Jaishankar met Mauritius Minister Mahendra Gondeea and Deputy Minister Hambyrajen Narsinghen on the sidelines of the event. Highlighting the shared cultural roots between India and Mauritius, he expressed appreciation for their active participation in celebrating the diaspora’s heritage.

In a post on X, he wrote:
“Pleased to meet Minister Mahendra Gondeea and Deputy Minister Hambyrajen Narsinghen of Mauritius today in Bhubaneswar. Also jointly met the 18th PBD delegation from Mauritius. Appreciate their warm sentiments and active participation in the celebration of our shared connect and roots.”

Boosting India-Malaysia Digital Cooperation:

EAM Jaishankar also met Malaysia’s Minister of Digital, Gobind Singh Deo, to discuss the growing digital partnership between India and Malaysia. The conversation extended to a joint interaction with a Malaysian diaspora delegation participating in PBD 2025.

He shared his thoughts on X:
“Good to meet Minister of Digital Gobind Singh Deo of Malaysia today. Discussed the growing India-Malaysia digital cooperation. Also jointly interacted with a diaspora delegation from Malaysia participating in the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025. Glad to witness their strong interest in India’s progress.”

Collaboration with Odisha Leadership:

Jaishankar joined Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at the Pravasi Bharatiya Business Leaders meeting. He emphasized the Modi Government’s Mission Purvodaya and Odisha’s significant role in its success. Jaishankar highlighted the state’s potential in Trade, Technology, and Tourism (3Ts), making it a promising destination for investments.

He noted on X:
“Pleased to join CM Mohan Charan Majhi at the Pravasi Bharatiya Business Leaders meeting. Underlined PM Narendra Modi Government’s steadfast commitment to Mission Purvodaya and the role of Odisha to its success. Inauguration of Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas:

Jaishankar, along with CM Majhi and several Union Ministers, inaugurated the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. This customary conclave, part of the PBD celebrations, focused on the significant role of the younger generation in building a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).

Sharing the milestone on X, Jaishankar remarked:
“Delighted to inaugurate the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar today. The customary conclave of our younger generation as part of the PBD celebrations is a testimony to their vital role and significant contribution in the building of a Viksit Bharat and enhancing its global image.”
