Innovation Should Be Included In Formulation Of Policies: Bhajan Lal Sharma

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma directed officers to formulate policies focused on the all-round development of youth, women, farmers, and the poor. He said that innovations should be prioritised in creating attractive, clear and consistent policies. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of timely implementation of these policies. The Chief Minister made this remark while addressing a review meeting on pending policies, schemes and acts at his residence on Wednesday.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is working with determination for the all-round development and welfare of 8 crore people of the state. He said that providing good governance to the public through policies and schemes is the top priority of the state government. The Chief Minister said that the state government will soon introduce the Rajasthan Cooperative Act-2025, which will include provisions to ensure transparency and accountability. Many people are associated with cooperative institutions. This is a sector in which there are immense employment opportunities. Sharma directed to add provisions in the new Act regarding regular audit of cooperative banks and financial institutions to ensure their smooth operation. He also directed to include clear provisions regarding the registration of housing cooperative societies.

Focus On Youth Development And Sports Policy

Sharma said that the all-round development of the youth is among the major priorities of the state government. The government plans to introduce a youth policy soon. He directed the officials of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department to incorporate provisions in this policy that reflect the needs and aspirations of the youth. Special provisions should be made in the sports policy to encourage and support players based on their excellent performance. The policy should be attractive as well as practical. The Chief Minister also gave instructions to designate a nodal department regarding the verification of players’ documents. He also directed to maintain all the records related to the players.

Incorporation Of Innovations In VAT And Excise Laws

Sharma directed the officials to incorporate innovations by studying the laws applicable in other states, in the context of the proposed VAT Act and Excise Law. Additionally, he directed that provisions should be added to the State Skill Policy to promote youth self-reliance. The Chief Minister emphasised that the goal is to empower youth by developing their skills, making the policy employment oriented.

Discussion On Key Policies And Schemes

The Chief Minister discussed in detail several important policies and schemes, including the Rajasthan Agriculture Development Scheme, Agro Processing Policy, Land Aggregation and Monetisation Policy, Industrial Policy, Garment and Apparel Policy, Rajasthan Warehousing and Logistics Policy, Data Centre Policy, New Tourism Policy, Transfer of Industrial Lands Validation Act, and the Rajasthan Coaching Centre Control and Regulation Bill. He provided necessary guidelines for each of these initiatives.
