A video of a white Mercedes-Benz speeding down a Los Angeles road narrowly avoiding a group of cyclists has gone viral. The white car weaves in and out of the cyclists, evading them while speeding away, with screams and shouts heard in the background as the riders urged each other to “move” and “watch out.”
Teenage cyclists attacked the driver, who tried to maneuver around the group as they commandeered the road. After that close call, the driver attempted to leave but was chased into a parking garage. The angry teens vandalized the car, smashed windows, climbed on it, and stomped on the roof.

Locals told CBS News that big groups of cyclists riding through the neighborhood was commonplace and not considered a nuisance. “It was pretty joyful. The customers that were outside were cheering them on and people were honking,” said Rosalina Hernandez, a local business owner. However, she described the violent scene in the parking garage as “unacceptable” and gave her “chills.”
Social media reaction was mixed: while some have stood up to the defense of the driver’s action, the others were found in support of the cyclists. One user has posted, “You can say a few things about the bicyclists, but the car driver wasn’t innocent either. Driving too hard into upcoming traffic, reckless endangerment of others.”
