The Indian car industry had a busy 2024. Several key mass-market models launched, including the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Curvv, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and more. Electric cars like the Tata Punch.ev and Mahindra BE 6 also entered the market. However, the Hyundai Creta stood out in terms of sales.
Hyundai Creta’s Facelift and Success
Hyundai launched the updated Creta in January. While it was just a facelift, the changes were significant. The new look and interior upgrades helped boost its popularity. In March, the launch of the performance-focused Creta N Line further added to its success.
Impressive Sales Figures
In 2023, Hyundai sold 1,57,311 units of the Creta. By November 2024, that number had already reached 1,74,311 units. The Creta first launched in 2015. The second-generation model arrived in 2020. This year’s facelifted model is a mid-life update. The Creta N Line, based on the standard Creta, also helped drive sales. The Creta range will expand further with the Creta EV in January 2025.
Value for Money
The Creta is known for its value for money. It is competitively priced and feature-rich. The price ranges from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20.45 lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai will increase prices by up to Rs 25,000 starting January 1, which will likely affect the Creta.
Features and Competition
The Creta competes with models like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Kia Seltos. It comes with features such as LED headlamps, diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, and a panoramic sunroof. It also offers Bose premium sound, Level 2 ADAS, and over 70 safety features, including 36 standard ones. Additionally, Bluelink connectivity is available with more than 70 functions.

The Creta offers three engine choices:
- 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine (115PS, 144Nm)

The Creta N Line is available only with the turbo petrol engine.
